The Hague
Located on the Dutch coast, The Hague is the seat of the government and many international organisations, including the International Criminal Court. The city is well known for its historical sights, its arts and culture scene and its impressive architecture. Below are some photos from recent trips.
Lisbon
Portugal is just great! A few impressions from the capital Lisbon, also called the city of the seven hills. Numerous viewpoints offer always new perspectives on the city.
Summer in Amsterdam
There haven’t been any photos from Amsterdam for a long time, even though I’ve been there several times in the last few years. So here are some summery photos from the Dutch capital 🙂 From a photographic point of view, I find the setting sun shining through the canal houses particularly attractive. You should also take advantage of the many opportunities to see the city from above.
Emporia Shopping Center, Malmö
The Emporia shopping centre in Malmö, Sweden was opened in 2012. The architect is Gert Wingårdh from Wingårdh arkitektkontor. Normally I wouldn’t walk through a shopping mall with my camera but this one impressed me with its special architecture – both from the outside and the inside

Inntel Hotel Amsterdam Zaandam
The building in the small town of Zaandam near Amsterdam stands out for its impressive facade. The structure consists of stacked traditional houses, typical for the region. It is even possible to stay overnight in the 12-storey building, because there is a 4-star hotel inside.
City Hall Nieuwegein
Opened in 2012, the “Stadshuis” of the municipality of Nieuwegein near Utrecht in the Netherlands combines various facilities such as the town hall, a library, shops and a multicultural centre in one building.
Veles e Vents, Valencia
The striking building “Veles e Vents” (sails and winches) in the port of Valencia was designed by star architect David Chipperfield on the occasion of the America’s Cup 2007. From here you had a view not only of the famous sailing regatta, but also of the Formula 1 circuit of the European Grand Prix, which also passed through the port.

Berlin by Night
Berlin by night with a view of the TV tower (Fernsehturm), city hall (Rathaus) and Berlin Cathedral (Berliner Dom).
8 House, Copenhagen
Denmark’s largest residential building, the 8 House (8 tallet), was built in Copenhagens district Ørestad between the airport and the city center several years ago. For the architect Bjarke Ingels it was the third project in this district after the VM Houses and Mountain Dwellings. There are 476 apartments on the upper floors, offices on the lower floors and there is also a kindergarten, shops and a large common room with a roof terrace.
Berlin TV Tower
In this blog entry I show a photo of the Berlin TV Tower, one of the most famous sights in the German capital. This photo, which shows the tower in all its splendour, is not only interesting for photographers, but also for anyone interested in Berlin’s historical and cultural treasures.
Autumn in Amsterdam
There are already some posts of Amsterdam here. But not yet any posts which shows the city center, which is almost a single attraction. Some time ago I visited the city of canals and bridges in autumn – but also at any other time of the year a visit is recommended.
Hamburg by Night
The promenade at the Jungfernstieg is reflected in the Alster at the blue hour. Hamburg at night is always a popular photo subject. You would like to use the photo? Contact me.
Grundtvig’s Church, Copenhagen
The Grundtvig’s Church in the northern district of Bispebjerg is one of the newer and due to the unusual design also one of the most famous churches in the city. While other churches are already 400 years or older, the Grundtvigskirche was built between 1921 and 1940. The design is by the architect Peder Klint, who did not live to see the completion. At the beginning, only the 49 meter high church tower was built and only in 1928 work began on the construction of the nave and other components. A total of about 5 million yellow bricks were installed.
Bella Sky Hotel, Copenhagen
Located in Copenhagen’s newest district, Ørestad, the Bella Sky Hotel is one of the largest hotels in Scandinavia. The building, planned by the Danish architecture company 3XN, consists of two towers with 23 floors and was opened in 2011. It is part of the exhibition and conference center Bella Center, where the UN Climate Change Conference took place in 2009.
Autumn in Utrecht
In autumn I visited Utrecht, the fourth largest city in the Netherlands. Utrecht Cathedral (Domtoren) is the highest church tower in the country with 112.5 metres. Of course I couldn’t resist climbing the 465 steps and enjoying a great view over the city. On good days the view should reach as far as Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
