The Emporia shopping centre in Malmö, Sweden was opened in 2012. The architect is Gert Wingårdh from Wingårdh arkitektkontor. Normally I wouldn’t walk through a shopping mall with my camera but this one impressed me with its special architecture – both from the outside and the inside.
The curved golden glass extends over a grid structure that curves upwards and backwards to allow daylight to enter the courtyard.
On the roof there is a park with many green areas and places to relax. In the future there will also be a restaurant and a wellness area.
Atriums in strong blue, green and red tones facilitate orientation in the building, while the adjacent car park is marked by a selection of coloured signs.
Used equipment:
Canon EOS 6D, Canon EF17-40mm f/4L USM, Adobe Photoshop
